Getting things in

Every tool like this dies of the same thing: typing. So mostly, you don’t.

Your whole address book is here on day one, and it stays that way — synced both ways with your phone, so anything that lands in your contacts lands in Deeta, and any edit you make here shows up there. Nothing to import, nothing stranded in a second app. After that a detail takes about two seconds, in whatever way suits the moment you’re in.

Say it, paste it, or save it from wherever you already are

The detail you want is almost never in front of you at a keyboard — it is in a conversation, a message, or a passing remark. So capture goes where you are rather than asking you to come to it.

Just say it. Talk, pause, think, keep talking — the session holds your transcript and waits, and you commit when you are done. Transcribed on your device.
Type or paste. Drop in a chunk of an email or your own scribbled notes and it pulls out the individual details for you to confirm.
Straight from Messages, or any other app. Share it to Deeta and it is saved against the right person without you leaving the app you were in.
Someone sends you their digital business card? Share a Blinq, HiHello or Popl link to Deeta and it arrives as real, structured details — name, title, company, numbers, socials — not a dead URL you will never open again.
Or they just AirDrop you a contact. Send it straight to Deeta — by AirDrop, or from a Mail or Messages attachment — and it comes in as details to confirm, rather than a card you have to file somewhere else first.

On a plane or underground, Private Mode picks up automatically and you can still ask about the people you know. It is the resilient path, not a degraded one.

Privacy by architecture

Most contact products aggregate your data. This one is built so we can’t.

Data minimisation here is structural, not a promise in a policy. And we are deliberate about the claims we do not make — that precision is the point.

What is true

Your records live in an encrypted store on your device, not in a readable pile on our servers.
In Private Mode nothing is transmitted at all — the reasoning runs on your device. Ask about something public and only an anonymous search leaves, never your contacts, names or details.
If you choose a cloud provider instead, you choose which one — and identities are tokenised and phone, email and address redacted before anything is sent.
Sharing is per attribute and consent-gated — you grant specific fields to a specific person, and it travels as ciphertext we cannot read.
A grant is revocable, and what you share cannot flow onward to anyone you never authorised.
We do not sell or share your information with anyone, ever. There is no ad model here.

What we do not claim

Not “your data never leaves your device,” flat. That is true in Private Mode and not true if you pick a cloud provider. We would rather tell you which is which than use the flattering version of the sentence.
Not that Private Mode matches a big cloud model at everything. It is better on your own records — it reads the phone numbers and addresses the cloud path redacts — and weaker at open-world reasoning. The app says so when it matters.
Not that we have solved privacy. We have narrowed what we can see, and we describe the narrow paths plainly.
Not a claim we can’t evidence. If you find us overclaiming anywhere, tell us and we will correct it.

That second column is unusual on a marketing page, and it is there on purpose: a narrower claim you can check beats a broad one you can’t. The full detail is in our privacy policy — and we are a founding signatory of the HumanTerms privacy pledge.

Questions

What family & friends people ask first

Is this a social network?

No. There is no feed, no follower count, nothing public and nobody browsing anybody. It is a private store on your own device that happens to be able to stay in sync with specific people you choose.

Do the people I share with have to use Deeta?

For the live-updating part, yes — that only works when both sides have a profile, because the whole mechanism is that they maintain their own.

Everything else works on your own: the details you keep, and being able to ask questions of them, need nobody else to join.

Can I keep notes about my kids without sharing anything?

Yes. Sharing is entirely opt-in and per field. Plenty of what you keep in Deeta is meant only for you, and nothing is shared until you specifically grant it.

Is health or dietary information handled differently?

Yes. Things like allergies and dietary needs are treated as special-category data under GDPR Article 9 and handled accordingly. It is one of the reasons the store is encrypted on your device rather than pooled on a server. The privacy policy sets out the detail.

How much work is this to keep up?

Less than you are expecting, and that is deliberate — every product in this category has died of exactly this.

Your whole address book is there from day one, synced both ways with your phone, so there is no import and nothing stranded in a second app. After that a detail is about two seconds: say it out loud, paste a chunk of an email or your notes, share something straight from Messages or any other app, share a digital business card someone sent you and have it come in as structured details, or turn an answer you just got into a saved detail. Typing it by hand still works — it is just rarely the fastest way.

Someone AirDropped me a contact — does that work?

Yes — hand it straight to Deeta. A contact sent by AirDrop, email or message can be opened in Deeta, or shared to it, and it arrives as real details — name, title, company, numbers, socials — for you to confirm. Same review step a shared business card goes through. A file holding a few contacts is reviewed one at a time. It is meant for a card someone hands you, not a whole address book exported from another app — that is a different job, and not one Deeta does yet.

Or let your phone do it: save it in your iPhone’s Contacts app instead and it still shows up in Deeta within seconds, because the two stay synced both ways.

Two honest limits: nothing is saved until you confirm it, and a photo attached to the contact file is not carried over — every other field is.
